The Chatterbox!
In a couple of days you will be four months old! You've been here forever and you were only born yesterday, it seems. I can't imagine not knowing you or our family ever being complete without you but I'm also still slightly shocked to find myself the mother of a baby girl!
Lately you have really settled in. You are sleeping really well. From 3 months you started sleeping through the night (yes, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou) before that it was usually 2 feeds a night which was starting to wear me down, I'll admit. Recently you've been waking a bit earlier than I'd like but we'll figure it out.
The best part though, is that you are really starting to make your voice heard. You spend a lot of time kicking around on your little rug under a play gym - which Joshie keeps re-arranging and setting up so you get a constant plethora of hanging delights to keep you happy. And whenever anyone calls over to you or comes near you and says 'hello', you just launch in with a little commentary on exactly what you've been thinking about over there. The gooing, the gahing, the little bubble blowing sessions, the giggles (you're ticklish now) and the happy full body arm and leg waving are just so delightful. If I had to sum you up in a word right now I'd say 'sweet'. You seem so pure, so innocent and fresh, so ready to be delighted and engaged and your adoring love for me is pretty darn great.
Mostly, when it's just us, I call you 'Bear'. It's funny, Joshie I called Boo, Toby was Bug and you are my Bear. The adventures of Boo, Bug and Bear! There's a book title in that!
Thanks for coming to join our family. Thanks for sleeping more now, and thanks for being really good about not being the utter centre of attention all the time. I think you'll turn out to be a really chilled out kid.
Oh and your brothers ADORE you. If you read this at a time when sibling relations are a little more strained, just know that deep down in their boy hearts, your brothers think you are super cool and are so chuffed to have a little sister to love, protect and show the ropes.
Bless you, my little sweet Bear.
Love, Mummy.
